New York Times: Never underestimate Ansar Allah 🔺 The New York Times of the United States wrote in an article, referring to the power of Ansar Allah in Yemen to block the Bab el-Mandeb strait, that their capabilities have turned them into a regional and international actor. 🔺 Acknowledging that Ansar Allah can disrupt commercial shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb strait, the New York Times added that Bab el-Mandeb is a narrow maritime passage at the entrance to the Red Sea, through which 12% to 15% of global maritime trade passes. On the other side of the Red Sea is the Suez Canal, which is a vital route for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and oil to North American and European markets. Given that Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, Ansar Allah is now in a position of exceptional power.
