Retired American General: Iranian drones and fighters have wreaked havoc on us. 🔹Retired U.S. Air Force General Glen VanHerck, speaking at the annual Missile Defense and Space Symposium in Huntsville, Alabama, claimed that U.S. air defense systems failed against Iranian air attacks, stating: "Honestly, drones and other air assets, including three F-5s that took off from Iran and attacked our airbase at low altitude, have made our lives difficult." 🔹This retired senior general, speaking at a panel on countering drones, expressed, "As a pilot, it is very shameful for me to say that such an event has occurred. This is the first time in decades that U.S. forces have been targeted in such an attack." 🔹According to the news site "War Zone," these attacks occurred while various air defense systems, including Patriot and E-3 Sentry AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System), were in the sky, and the U.S. Army has spent years developing a more integrated air and missile defense network in collaboration with allies and partners across the Middle East. 🔹The news site continued, "Iran had actively targeted regional air defense and missile radar during the early days of this conflict; a matter that, according to military experts, poses a separate alarm for U.S. forces." 🔹The report further states, "This raises the question of what other capabilities Iran has brought to the field to support this operation. Iranian forces may have conducted more extensive missile and drone attacks on sensors, command and control centers, and other positions to clear the way for the assault. There is also the possibility of employing electronic warfare, cyberattacks, and various types of deception operations."
