From Hormuz to Bab al-Mandeb; the heavy riddle of waterways imposed by Iran and Yemen 🔹Qatari website Al Arabi Al Jadid: Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz again is a reciprocal response to the naval blockade imposed by the U.S., and amid this crisis that encompasses the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, the world's attention has suddenly turned to the Red Sea, which has become an ignition point. 🔹The Yemenis have operationalized their threats to impose a blockade against Saudi Arabia, and accordingly, scenarios are being drawn up about the opening of a new front in the war over waterways and maritime ports. 🔹The Yemeni decision to impose a blockade against Saudi Arabia was made long ago, even before Riyadh's attack on Sana'a airport. These developments, along with others in the region and especially the concern that the Ansar Allah movement may disrupt maritime traffic by closing the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, have increased the turmoil in oil markets and worries about global energy supply.
