Details of the new energy market plan 🔹A 10-page document has reached Fars that announces the birth of a new market called "Energy and Environmental Optimization Market". 🔹The final version of this document Tir 1405, was prepared by the Deputy President Ismail Saqab Isfahani, and now it is the turn of the Economic Commission of the government to review it. 🔹The idea of creating an energy market, which is currently being developed in the government, was previously proposed in the form of a plan by Saeed Jalili, although the two plans differ in details. 🔹According to this regulation, 100% of the energy consumption quota for the household sector will be distributed per capita and based on family size among all families, and each family must purchase its additional energy at free market prices if consumption exceeds its quota. 🔹This plan represents a sudden transformation in the energy sector and effectively hands over the pricing of energy carriers from the government to the free market. 🔹On one side, energy expert Rahim Ahmadi believes that for the first time, reducing consumption is not only without penalties; it also becomes a source of income. He believes that Iran's ailing economy desperately needs this bitter medicine. 🔹On the other side, economic expert Mehdi Panahi is sounding the alarm and warns that the government first delivers a shock of rising prices, then rewards; he asks the stakeholders of this plan whether people can even reduce consumption or if this plan is just a big gamble on the most exhausted segment of society. 🔹However, the Research Center of the Parliament had previously warned about "shock therapy" in the economy. According to this report, shock actions not only do not correct issues but also, with their negative social effects, close the door on any transformation. The solution, according to them, is gradual and small-scale changes.
