Iran Representative: The Security Council Should Condemn U.S. Unilateral Coercive Actions Iran's Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations: 🔹The Security Council has repeatedly failed in its responsibilities under the Charter and in ensuring accountability due to the political support and obstruction by the United States. 🔹The root cause of instability and disruption in maritime trade and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is the aggressive war of the U.S. and Israel against Iran, which constitutes a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law. 🔹Countries that facilitate illegal military actions by providing bases, logistical or intelligence support, or access to airspace should also be held accountable under international law. 🔹The only sustainable path to restore peace, regional stability, and secure shipping is to end the aggression, fully respect Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and lift illegal maritime blockades and unilateral coercive actions.
