The latest hostile action by the U.S. against Fars News Agency 🔹In the latest hostile act against Iranian media, the U.S. has imposed new sanctions, blocking the issuance of an SSL certificate for the Fars News Agency website. This action, which has led to disrupted access for users and a gradual removal of news from Google search results, is viewed as part of a series of targeted activities by Washington against Fars News Agency. 🔹Technical investigations conducted by Fars’ IT team show that requests for the issuance or renewal of this media’s security certificate with all respected international Public CA (Certificate Authorities) trusted by internet browsers have faced rejections or unavailability of service. 🔹Among these institutions are Let's Encrypt, Actalis, Certum, GlobalSign, DigiCert, Sectigo, HARICA, and other reputable providers, which have refrained from issuing certificates for Fars News Agency's domains due to reasons stemming from sanctions policies or their own internal constraints. 🔹As a result of this restriction, the ability to use trusted security certificates for the Fars News Agency website has been eliminated, and in addition to disrupting user access, this could lead to security warnings for users, a reduction in browser trust, and a negative impact on the indexing of pages in search engines including Google. 🔹Fars News Agency has always been at the forefront of Western sanctions. Previously, in Bahman 1398, the .com domain of this agency was blocked by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Treasury (OFAC). In Shahrivar 1402, the name of this media and its CEO were added to the SDN sanctions list. However, these sanctions were not limited to the U.S., and in subsequent steps, the European Union and Canada also imposed sanctions against Fars News Agency and its officials in line with Washington's policies, thereby intensifying pressure on this media on an international scale. 🔹The restrictions imposed against Fars have not been limited to its website and have also been occurring in various media dimensions.
