The U.S. Army in the region (CENTCOM): Following attacks by Iran in Jordan, 2 U.S. soldiers were killed and 1 is missing. CENTCOM statement: "On the 17 July, two American soldiers in Jordan were killed while defending U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces against attacks from Iranian ballistic missiles and drones. In addition, one soldier is currently missing during operations. Four American soldiers were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan. They have since been discharged. Other personnel who were assessed for minor injuries have returned to their duty stations. Out of respect for the families, CENTCOM will withhold additional information, including the identities of the fallen warriors, until 24 hours after notifying the next of kin."
