The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, in a message posted on platform X, shared an image of Iranian specialists in Kuwait in 1991 who were sent to extinguish the oil well fires in that country. 🔹 This historical photo depicts the noble and dedicated Iranian specialists making efforts to extinguish the burning oil wells in Kuwait after the retreat of the Iraqi Ba'ath army from that country in 1991. 🔹 Despite the fact that it had only been three years since the end of Saddam's imposed war against Iran, and the painful wounds caused by the comprehensive support of Kuwait and other members of the Cooperation Council for the Ba'ath regime were still fresh, Iran responded to the request of the Kuwaiti government by sending a 47-member team of oil industry specialists to participate in the fire extinguishing operation, taking responsibility for controlling 28 oil wells in the vast Burgan field, an event recorded in international documents and reports as part of the largest oil well fire containment operation in history.
