BREAKING: Iran directly rejects the US CENTCOM claim that the US-backed southern route through the Strait of Hormuz is "free and open" and that US forces have assisted more than 1,000 vessels in successfully transiting the strait over the past three months, saying that Iran has repeatedly struck vessels in the southern route in recent months, per Fars. Iran reaffirms the only route for transiting the Strait of Hormuz is the passage designated by Iran, and that transiting any other route will cause serious damage to these vessels because Iran will strike them. Iran adds "we will not open the Strait as Trump wants, and all vessels should only follow Iran's route not any southern route."
