Iran has pushed back the US maritime support chain from the Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean. The New York Times reported: 🔹About 20 ships carrying nearly 20,000 naval and marine personnel require over 420,000 meals and approximately 8 million gallons of fuel each week. 🔹The situation became much more difficult after Iran destroyed a key US Navy logistics base in Bahrain and made other nearby ports extremely dangerous to use. 🔹Supply ships now have no choice but to travel about 2,200 miles to Diego Garcia or even further to Singapore before returning to the fleet.
