At the same time, a senior Lebanese security official told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Jumhuriya that Lebanon has received messages indicating that Israel is preparing to conquer the Ali al-Tahir mountain range and is waiting for approval from the U.S. The U.S., in turn, informed Lebanon that it would not be able to completely prevent an Israeli operation but requested that it be a surgical action with minimal use of explosions and civilian harm, in order not to undermine the framework agreement. @InbarYuval
