The oldest photos of Persepolis! 🔹️In the autumn of 1236 in the Persian calendar (1857 AD), an Italian officer climbed the Marvdasht plain with a heavy camera on his shoulder and stood in front of the giant columns of Persepolis. Luigi Pese, who came to Iran to train the Iranian military, was able to capture the oldest known photograph of Persepolis.
