New York Times: Trump is caught in the quagmire of war with Iran American media: 🔹Trump has now discovered limitations in his power that he could hardly have imagined when he launched a full-scale aggressive war on the 28th February and set out purported goals to quickly end Iran's nuclear program and overthrow the regime in that country. 🔹Trump is hesitant about returning to large-scale military operations that his intelligence agencies assess are unlikely to work well in Tehran as well. 🔹Trump has been unable to control rising oil prices or their impacts on the stock market. Shipping that was halted in the Strait of Hormuz was briefly reopened for a few weeks but has now been suspended again, and now a second chokepoint, between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, is at risk. 🔹Now Trump has three main options; military escalation, economic repression, or declaring 'victory' and withdrawing. Each option seems unpleasant for various reasons.
