The UAE's artificial intelligence project becomes underground due to fears of Iran 🔹In response to Iran's retaliation against U.S. aggressions and targeting U.S.-related technological infrastructure in the region, the UAE is reevaluating the architecture of one of its largest artificial intelligence projects. 🔹The 5-gigawatt project, originally intended to be constructed as a 26-square-kilometer complex in Abu Dhabi, will shift to a network of smaller data centers scattered across various locations in the UAE. 🔹The UAE's initial plan, which launched its first phase known as "Stargate UAE" with a $30 billion investment and a capacity of 1 gigawatt, was meant to connect all government and commercial entities in the country to the most advanced AI models in the world. 🔹According to the new design, some of the facilities may be constructed underground. 🔹In response to U.S. aggressions, Iran targeted some U.S. interests, including data center infrastructure in the UAE and Bahrain. In one instance, Amazon's cloud unit also reported that power was cut off and a fire was sparked after a collision with a data center in the UAE.
