CNN: 🔹The USS Benfold guided missile destroyer lost all functionality for 4 days in the South China Sea after a generator malfunction on the 24 July. 🔹The 300-member crew was deprived of efficient restrooms, air conditioning, a kitchen, or water systems in extreme heat. 🔹The ship remained unable to float until tugboats pulled it to Subic Bay in the Philippines, where its power was restored six days later. 🔹This is the second American destroyer to experience a malfunction in the Indo-Pacific region this year.
