France must be accountable for its intervening behaviors in relation to Iran. Mohammad Tanhayi, head of the second department for Western Europe at the Foreign Ministry, called the French Foreign Minister's claim of intimidation against an employee of the embassy in Tehran unfounded and incorrect. The head of the second department for Western Europe at the Foreign Ministry stated that based on reports received from the relevant authorities regarding two French embassy employees, on the evening of Sunday, the 28th Tir, two French individuals were present at a meeting with several security suspects and were questioned briefly by security agents. Numerous documents indicating anti-security activities were found at this location, which the relevant authorities are currently investigating. Tanhayi rejected the French Foreign Minister's false claim of assault against the two individuals, emphasizing that security forces, upon learning of the affiliation of these two individuals with the embassy of France in Tehran, transferred them to the diplomatic police headquarters and after coordination with the Foreign Ministry and a contact with the French ambassador, they were handed over to the embassy. The head of the second department for Western Europe at the Foreign Ministry stressed that the unlawful behavior of the two French embassy employees is a violation of the laws of the host country and the provisions of the 1961 Diplomatic Relations Convention, stating that the French Foreign Minister should be held accountable for the behavior of these two embassy employees instead of fleeing forward. Tanhayi also noted that the French Foreign Minister's claim that these two employees were working towards "civil society" is indicative of an intervening behavior contrary to France's conventional diplomatic mission in Iran, and France must explain which international treaty regarding diplomatic and consular rights allows for "supporting civil society" in the host country?! The head of the second department for Western Europe at the Foreign Ministry emphasized that the French government should not pursue intervening behaviors in Iran and should adjust its policies toward Iran according to the conventional rules governing relations between states.
