Rezaei: The U.S. Army Used the Ceasefire Opportunity to Strengthen Military Capability IRGC Commander During the 8-Year Defense War: 🔹Washington conditioned the release of $12 billion of Iran's assets on taking loans and exclusively purchasing goods and food from American companies. 🔹The American side signed the memorandum with the aim of applying maximum pressure and forcing Iran to retreat, and for this reason, it refrained from referring the case to the dispute resolution committee (with the presence of Pakistan and Qatar); as in the case of an examination, condemnation of Washington’s positions was certain. 🔹The United States adopted a simultaneous "war and negotiation" policy after the Islamabad discussions. Accepting a two-week ceasefire by Iran provided an opportunity for the U.S. to complete the maritime blockade of Iran while negotiating. 🔹After Iran opposed extending this opportunity, Washington unilaterally extended the ceasefire over the past two months, proceeding with the re-armament, securing vessels, and fuel aircraft to direct the negotiations contrary to initial commitments in favor of its own interests.
