🎙 Iraqi resistance rejects Saudi claim of drone attacks from Iraq’s soil 📌 Tehran, IRNA – The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has rejected Saudi Arabia’s claim that drone attacks against oil facilities in the kingdom originated from Iraqi territory, warning Riyadh against any “foolish action” based on the allegation. According to Iraqi media reports, the group said in a statement on Monday that any such action by Saudi Arabia would be met with a severe response that would leave the kingdom “deeply regretful.” The statement said Riyadh’s repeated accusations that Iraq was the origin of attacks on oil facilities in the country’s Eastern Province and the capital, Riyadh, reflected continued hostility toward Iraq. It dismissed the allegations as an attempt to justify Saudi Arabia’s inability to respond to attacks launched from Yemen and to cover up its “failures and crimes.” Reaffirming its rejection of speculation and accusations against Iraq, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq said the Saudi government should lift the blockade on Yemen instead of accusing the Yemeni people in an effort to justify its own failures. Earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Defense claimed that oil facilities in two areas of the kingdom’s Eastern Province and in Riyadh had been targeted in drone attacks launched from inside Iraq. Following the claim, Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Falih al-Zaidi instructed the country’s security authorities on Monday to investigate the Saudi Defense Ministry’s statement regarding the alleged drone attacks from Iraqi territory. In a statement, military spokesman Sabah al-Numan said the Iraqi government remained firmly committed to the principles of good neighborliness and would not allow Iraqi territory to be used as a transit route or launching point for aggression against brotherly or friendly countries. Al-Numan said the government was reviewing available evidence and information and would take legal action against anyone found to have been involved based on the outcome of the investigation. The Saudi allegation came after authorities in Sana’a had announced that the Yemeni Armed Forces had targeted sensitive sites inside Saudi Arabia in response to Saudi attacks. The Yemeni Armed Forces have said they will continue their operations until the 12-year blockade on Yemen is lifted. 📲
