💬 The US achieved none of its goals in war with Iran: American political scientist 📌 Tehran, IRNA – John Mearsheimer, an American political science professor, has described the war with Iran as a catastrophic failure in which Washington achieved none of its strategic objectives. In an interview with the Uncensored program, Mearsheimer said the United States suffered a devastating defeat and failed to realize any of the goals it pursued at the start of the offensive. ​ He stated that Washington launched the war with four goals: regime change in Iran, elimination of Iran’s uranium enrichment capability, an end to Tehran’s support for Ansarullah in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Hamas, and the halt of Iran’s long-range missile program. ​ According to Mearsheimer, the United States failed to achieve all four. ​ He added that before the war began on February 28, Iran exercised no control over the Strait of Hormuz, yet it now dominates the strategic waterway. ​ Mearsheimer said US military infrastructure in the region has been damaged, Washington’s network of alliances in West Asia has been shaken, and the global economy may face a serious crisis in the near future. ​ Describing the outcome as a catastrophic failure, he emphasized that there is no military solution to the crisis. ​ He said all strategies employed, including extensive air strikes, blockade, and other military options, have failed. ​ Mearsheimer concluded that no alternative strategy has yet been offered for an American exit from the situation, and therefore the current crisis has no military solution. ​ The United States and Israel launched the war of aggression on Iran on February 28, violating a diplomatic process and opening a new round of tension. ​ On the first day of the aggression, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and 168 students of Shajareh Tayyeba primary school in Minab were martyred. ​ Despite a ceasefire, the United States again violated the agreement by making claims about developments in the Strait of Hormuz and resumed its attacks. ​ The Islamic Republic, exercising its inherent right of legitimate defense under international law, has delivered a decisive and proportionate response to the American aggression, warning that any further act of aggression will face a powerful response from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 📲 ​
