📄 Iran reaffirms support for Palestine as Hamas calls for urgent Islamic action 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirms Iran’s “principled and firm” support for the Palestinian cause and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, as Hamas calls for serious and immediate action by Islamic countries against Israeli aggression and crimes against Palestinians. Bassem Naim, a member of the Political Bureau and head of the Arab and Islamic Relations Office of the Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas, made the call during a meeting with Araghchi in Tehran on Wednesday, during a visit to Iran for consultations with Iranian officials. ​ Naim briefed Araghchi on the latest developments in Palestine, including the continued “savage crimes” of the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Judaization of occupied al-Quds and the “brutal torture” of Palestinians in Israeli prisons. ​ He said the approach of the Israeli regime’s prime minister was aimed at continuing the war and genocide against Palestinians and forcibly displacing the Palestinian people through the continued imposition of a blockade and preventing humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip. ​ Naim called for “serious and immediate action” by the international community, particularly Islamic countries, to confront Israeli attacks and crimes against the Palestinian people and support their right to self-determination. ​ Earlier in the meeting, Naim conveyed the warm greetings of Khalil al-Hayya, the new head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, to Araghchi. ​ He also again expressed condolences from Hamas leaders and the Palestinian people over the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as well as Iranian commanders, figures and citizens, and praised the role of Iran’s martyred leader in defending the cause of the liberation of Palestine and al-Quds. ​ In response, Araghchi thanked Hamas’ leadership for sending messages of condolence and sympathy and expressing solidarity with the Islamic Republic and the Iranian people. ​ He reaffirmed Iran’s “principled and firm” position on continuing comprehensive defense of the country against aggressors and supporting “the sacred cause of the liberation of Palestine and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital.” ​ Araghchi also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in international forums, including meetings of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS, as well as the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly. 📲 ​
