⚡️ Iran seeks no outside permission on technology development, first VP says 📌 Tehran, IRNA – First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref said Iran’s defensive and security power rests on scientific and technological advancement, stressing that the country does not seek anyone’s permission to develop technology, but it makes its achievements available to friendly nations. Speaking at a meeting of the Technology Development and Artificial Intelligence Headquarters, Aref said the government is pursuing a goal of placing Iran among the world’s top ten countries in artificial intelligence. ​ “In addition to developing this technology, serious steps must be taken to apply it in practice, and the implementation of relevant plans and documents across various institutions must be continuously monitored,” he said. ​ Aref praised the performance of scientists and technology experts, saying the country’s scientific achievements had exceeded expectations and met national needs in a short period, particularly over the past two years and following the 12-day war. ​ Turning to longer-term policy, he said the government is working to address shortfalls in the Vision Document and fulfill the goals of the Second Step of the Revolution declaration in science and technology, noting the strategic vision of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in advancing the sector over four decades. ​ He also called on regional countries to prevent their territories from being used against Iran. ​ The meeting concluded with a review of the Technology and AI Headquarters secretariat’s progress report and AI development roadmaps for the ministries of oil and energy, with a decision to issue the plans formally after revisions are applied. ​ Aref stressed that developing AI must be matched by concrete steps to put it into practical use, with ongoing oversight to measure how well institutions are meeting their targets. 📲 ​
