📡 Iran ready for decisive response to any new aggression, says Army spokesperson 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia has emphasized the Armed Forces’ readiness to confront any potential aggression, noting that if the enemy launches another attack, the Armed Forces will deliver a more powerful, extensive, and decisive response. During a live television program commemorating the 46th anniversary of the eight-year Sacred Defense, Brigadier General Akrami-Nia honored all martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, especially the martyred soldiers. ​ He said the Iranian Army played a major role in defending the country during the Sacred Defense by training and deploying more than 2.5 million soldiers, around 40,000 of whom were martyred. ​ Akrami-Nia described Saddam Hussein’s miscalculations and erroneous assessment of Iran’s situation as the cause of the imposed war, saying a similar delusion and miscalculation could be seen in the US president during the ongoing war. ​ He said the enemies had mistakenly believed that the blows inflicted on Hamas and Hezbollah and the fall of the Assad government had created favorable conditions for an attack and aggression against Iran, but they made a strategic miscalculation. ​ Referring to the United States’ position in the region, Akrami-Nia stressed that Washington is not in a favorable position. “If the US were really in a good position, it would not be trying so hard to change the situation and would instead seek to preserve the status quo,” he said, adding that the United States might launch another act of aggression, but Iran is now more prepared and in a stronger position than before. ​ The Army spokesperson warned that if the enemy launches another attack or act of aggression, the region will inevitably face expanded war, more instability and violence than before, and that regional countries will suffer greater damage. ​ Regarding the regional security situation, Akrami-Nia said removing the United States from the region would make it safer. He called on regional countries to help achieve this and establish a security order based on their participation. ​ He added that the United States has never sought the interests of the Muslim peoples of the region, citing its record and conduct during the current war. “The priority of the United States is not regional security, and even if it is, it would certainly prioritize its own security and that of the Israeli regime,” he said, adding that Washington essentially lacks the capacity to safeguard the security of regional countries. 📲 ​
