Hossein Amir-Teymouri said the vessel was operating in the Strait of Hormuz, near Hengam Island, when the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday. ​ He said the ship was a commercial container carrier with 10 crew members aboard at the time of the incident. ​ According to the information released so far, one crew member, identified as Jamshid Rajabi, was killed after the projectile struck the vessel, while four other crew members sustained injuries. ​ Amir-Teymouri said the incident took place near Hengam Island within the Strait of Hormuz and that an investigation into the circumstances was underway. ​ He stressed that the projectile involved in the incident was unidentified and that further details regarding its origin, nature and the circumstances surrounding the strike had not yet been released. 📲 ​
