The attacks, conducted early Tuesday, targeted US military installations at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base, Camp Al-Adiri, and Camp Arifjan, according to a statement issued by the Army. ​ The Army’s ground forces targeted HIMARS missile systems at Camp Arifjan with surface-to-surface missiles. The statement said the strikes would reduce the enemy’s missile capabilities by weakening its offensive and defensive layers. ​ The Army said administrative buildings and direction-finding antennas at Camp Arifjan were also targeted by loitering munitions. ​ It added that its loitering munitions also targeted the helicopter parking area at Al-Adiri Camp and a building housing US troops at Kuwait’s Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base. ​ Arifjan is one of the largest bases hosting US troops and the headquarters of the US Army in Southwest Asia, while Al-Adiri Camp is home to Apache, Chinook, and Black Hawk helicopters operated by US naval and air forces. ​ Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base also plays a key role in logistics and support for the US military in West Asia and has played a major role in the country’s air and surveillance operations.
