📄 Iran warns of consequences for cooperation with US aggression 📌 Tehran, IRNA — Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has warned that any cooperation with the United States in advancing aggressive actions against Iran will have consequences, stressing that the country’s diplomatic approach is continuously adapting to changing regional and international conditions. Speaking at a weekly press conference in Tehran on Monday, Baqaei said Iran cannot conduct today’s diplomacy using methods developed a year ago, emphasizing that the country must continually strengthen its diplomatic capabilities to safeguard national interests and security. He described US economic pressure as economic warfare, saying Tehran has repeatedly warned that such measures constitute economic terrorism. He said the United States is using various means to pressure Iranians because of their insistence on national sovereignty, independence, and dignity. Baqaei stressed that necessary warnings have been issued and will continue to be issued regarding cooperation with US actions against Iran. Baqaei described the current maritime blockade of Iran as an act of aggression, warning that any escalation would have consequences. He said Iran is not powerless in confronting such measures and argued that other countries are not legally entitled to assist the United States in actions that violate international law and human rights. Regarding Iranian nationals facing difficulties under US immigration policies, Baqaei said Iran is obligated to assist its citizens wherever they encounter problems. He described some of the measures against Iranian nationals as discriminatory and politically motivated. He said some affected Iranians chose to return home, with Iran’s interests section facilitating their return. Baqaei stressed that Iranians have the right to return to their country whenever they choose. Addressing concerns over damage to Iran’s energy infrastructure during the recent US–Israeli war on the Islamic Republic, Baqaei assured that all necessary measures are being taken to meet winter energy needs. He said the Oil Ministry is responsible for technical preparations, while the Foreign Ministry is conducting diplomatic talks with parties capable of supplying energy to Iran if necessary. Baqaei said the detention of Iranian citizens and pilots in Kuwait and Qatar during the third imposed war against Iran involved violations of the 1949 Third Geneva Convention. He welcomed the recent visit by Iran’s ambassador to Kuwait with four detained Iranian citizens, saying their health had been confirmed and calling for their swift release. Regarding three Iranian pilots in Qatar, he said Tehran would continue using bilateral and multilateral channels to clarify their fate. On controversies surrounding geographical names during the Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf’s visit to Iraq, Baqaei said the Persian Gulf is a shared regional heritage and should be used to strengthen ties and unity rather than create division among neighboring countries. 📲
