Abdollahi as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces 📌 Tehran, IRNA - Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has appointed Major General Ali Abdollahi as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. In a decree on Monday, the Leader cited General Abdollahi’s “commendable services and valuable experience” as the basis for the appointment. ​ The Leader outlined three key priorities for the new chief of staff: ​ - Enhancing the comprehensive and up-to-date defense and security capabilities of the Armed Forces and the Basij; ​ - Ensuring timely, revolutionary, and effective responses to all levels of conventional and modern military, cognitive, and hybrid threats against the Islamic Republic; ​ - Completing the integration process of the Armed Forces General Staff and the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, in line with the vision of the martyred Imam Khomeini. ​ The appointment comes after the martyrdom of Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, who was assassinated in a Zionist-American airstrike earlier this year. 📲 ​
