⚡️ Ex-Bolivian FM warns Trump’s actions—war, sanctions, assassinations—threaten global stability 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Former Bolivian Foreign Minister Fernando Huanacuni has strongly criticized US President Donald Trump’s policies, saying his “America First” approach has heightened tensions in the international order and that his policies have contributed to global instability. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Huanacuni said Trump’s policies toward Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and Bolivia had weakened multilateral institutions, intensified economic pressure, and undermined countries’ national sovereignty. ​ “Trump’s policies are part of the United States’ broader effort to maintain its hegemony over other countries. However, what sets him apart from previous US administrations is the way he has openly and directly pursued this aggressive approach through unilateralism and coercive diplomacy,” the former minister said. ​ He added that Trump’s “America First” approach “has created tensions in the international order, while the US withdrawal or threats to withdraw from international agreements and institutions—including the Paris Agreement and the Iran nuclear deal—as well as its questioning of NATO, have weakened traditional alliances and mechanisms of global governance.” ​ “Undoubtedly, Trump poses a threat not only to the global order but also to humanity,” he added. ​ The former Bolivian minister criticized Washington’s policies toward Iran, saying severe economic sanctions had sought to cripple the Iranian economy and force Tehran into negotiations under tougher conditions. ​ The US war of aggression on Iran reflects Washington’s hostile policy and desire to control strategic resources, Huanacuni said, arguing that the US has long portrayed Latin Americans as “drug traffickers” and Middle Easterners as “terrorists” to justify assassinations and violations of international agreements. ​ Regarding Latin America, Huanacuni said US sanctions and economic pressure against Venezuela and Cuba had hindered their development and undermined their right to determine their own future. ​ On Bolivia, he said the US has historically sought to control Bolivia’s policies because of its abundant natural resources. However, Bolivia began reclaiming its national sovereignty in 2006, achieving significant economic progress and reducing dependence on conditional foreign aid, he added. He also said Bolivia must free itself from US interference and strengthen its historical and cultural awareness to unite its people and pursue development while preserving its sovereignty and national dignity. 📲 ​
