⚡️ Iran, other Persian Gulf littoral states to meet in Oman to discuss regional issues: Foreign Ministry 📌 Tehran, IRNA — Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei says Iran and other Persian Gulf littoral states will sit down next week to discuss regional issues, including a Tehran–Muscat deal to manage shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. In a press briefing on Friday, Baqaei announced that foreign ministers from Iran, Iraq, and other littoral states of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are scheduled to take part in the meeting in Oman on Monday. ​ He stated that the meeting would address issues concerning the region, including the outcomes of negotiations between Iran and Oman regarding the establishment of safe shipping lanes in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. ​ Underscoring Iran’s consistent commitment to fostering trust and cooperation among regional nations to strengthen peace and stability—free from interference of extra-regional actors—the spokesperson described the upcoming meeting in Muscat as a significant development. ​ Baqaei expressed hope that the gathering would pave the way for enhanced mutual understanding among regional countries and contribute to strengthening shared regional security. ​ Recalling the Iran–Oman understanding on temporary shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, he said the Islamic Republic remained committed to ensuring security in the strategic waters, but it cannot be guaranteed as long as aggressive actions and illegal interventions by the United States—including maritime blockades and economic warfare—persist. 📲 ​
