Hosseinzadeh made the remarks late Monday on X, reacting to a drone attack on the office of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani earlier in the day. ​ The vice president strongly condemned the attack and called for those responsible to be held accountable. ​ “As an Iranian Kurd and a member of the Iranian government, I strongly condemn the attack on the office of my brother, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq,” he said, emphasizing the unity between Iran and the Iraqi region. ​ He said that Iran and Iraq are “more than just neighbors.” “We are one.
