📡 Iran will firmly respond to any enemy aggression: Foreign Ministry 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iran's Foreign Ministry has issued yet another strong condemnation of US attacks on several oil tankers, warning that the Iranian Armed Forces will firmly and decisively respond to enemy aggression by exercising their inherent right to self-defense. In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry noted that the attacks by "the US terrorist army" on Iranian commercial ships are not only a dangerous escalation of tension in the region, but also a clear threat to regional and international peace and security. ​ Calling the United States' actions a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law, the statement described the attacks on Iranian vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman as a continuation of Washington's aggression, blockade, and economic war against Tehran. ​ The statement, referring to Iran's retaliatory measures, said that the country's armed forces, in accordance with the right of legitimate defense, targeted US military bases and facilities located in Jordan, as well as several American vessels. ​ The armed forces will not hesitate to exercise the inherent right of self-defense and will respond decisively to any military aggression by the enemy in an appropriate manner, it stressed, reiterating once again the responsibility of the UN Security Council to take immediate action against the US aggression against Iran. ​ On Tuesday, the US military attacked five Iranian oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, prompting retaliation from the Iranian Armed Forces that targeted an American base, two US vessels, and eight oil tankers, causing great damage to them. ​ Also, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy targeted 10 violating ships trying to pass through the forbidden and unsafe area of the Strait of Hormuz with the incitement and support of the US terrorist army. 📲 ​
