💬 US imposes fresh Iran-related sanctions amid continued pressure campaign 📌 Tehran, IRNA – The United States has imposed a new round of sanctions targeting eight oil tankers and 10 entities linked to Iran, in the latest step in Washington’s continued hostile approach toward the Islamic Republic. The US Treasury Department said on Wednesday that its Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had taken additional measures against what it described as Iran’s efforts to generate revenue from the Strait of Hormuz and bolster its economy. ​ According to the Treasury statement, two companies were sanctioned for allegedly requiring commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to purchase compulsory maritime insurance.
