📄 Araghchi: Any participation in military attacks against Iran will carry consequences 📌 Tehran, IRNA — Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says that any party that participates, in any way, in committing a military attack against Iran must accept responsibility for its consequences. During a telephone conversation with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova on Thursday, Araghchi explained the latest developments in the region, the ongoing US aggression against Iran, and Washington’s actions that exacerbate tensions in West Asia. ​ The top Iranian diplomat said that Bulgaria’s decision to approve a US request to deploy American military aircraft at Bezmer Air Base, intended to support military operations, is condemned, unacceptable, and inconsistent with the longstanding friendly relations between Tehran and Sofia, adding that it would be appropriate for the Bulgarian government to urgently reconsider this decision. ​ Referring to Article 3 of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3314, which defines aggression, Araghchi said that allowing one state to use the territory of another state to carry out acts of aggression against a third state constitutes an act of aggression itself. ​ The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran would not hesitate to defend its national interests and security against any acts of aggression or hostile actions. ​ He added that any party involved in a military attack against Iran will inevitably have to bear the responsibility for the consequences. ​ For her part, Petrova-Chamova mentioned the history of good relations between the two countries, adding that Bulgaria had no intention of participating in the war. ​ The Bulgarian foreign minister also reaffirmed her country’s commitment to diplomacy and efforts to ease tensions in the West Asia region. 📲 ​
