📡 IRGC warns against using alternative routes to Strait of Hormuz after vessel catches fire 📌 Tehran, IRNA – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned vessels against using alternative routes to the Strait of Hormuz, saying the waterway’s entrances and exits are under its "absolute control," after a vessel caught fire. In a statement early Wednesday, the IRGC said three vessels had attempted to pass through an unsafe route in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that one of them caught fire while the other two quickly turned back. ​ “The IRGC Navy stresses that the Strait of Hormuz is under our control and will remain completely closed as long as US acts of aggression in the region continue. No oil tanker will be allowed to enter or leave, and any vessel that falls for US deception and attempts to pass through without coordinating with the Islamic Republic of Iran will suffer the same fate,” the statement said. ​ The IRGC also urged the United States to stop “acts of aggression” in the sensitive region and warned against endangering commercial shipping and global energy security. ​ “End these interventions, which will only lead to an energy crisis and a shortage of agricultural fertilizers around the world.
