⚡️ Negotiations not a sign of retreat, but resistance if national interests are served: Ghalibaf 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf says negotiations with adversaries become meaningful if they help advance national interests, realize the rights of the nation, eliminate oppression, and consolidate the achievements of the resistance. In response to a letter from the editor-in-chief of Kayhan, a leading Iranian daily, Ghalibaf clarified his stance on negotiations with the enemies, stating that the responsibility to engage in dialogue with those whose hands are stained with the blood of the martyred Leader, military commanders, scientific elites, and citizens was not a privilege, but a heavy test and a serious trust. Expressing gratitude to Hossein Shariatmadari for reminding him of the ideals of the Islamic Revolution, the guidance of the late leaders, and the sacrifices made by the faithful people, Ghalibaf described the opinions as a sign of brotherhood from one who is a commander of the soft war and at the forefront of defending national dignity. “And prepare for them what you can of strength,” he quoted from the Holy Qur'an to justify his notion, adding that, with such logic, dialogue—when necessary—is the very field of struggle and resistance, not a sign of retreat. He also recalled the martyred Leader's resistance to arrogance to protect the interests of Islam and Muslims through rationality and prudence. Ghalibaf said the Leader's emphasis was on interaction with the world, and that negotiation, whenever necessary, must be pursued from a position of power while preserving dignity, wisdom, and expediency. “I must say that any rational action, any authoritative dialogue, or any attempt to take the nation’s rights from the enemy should not be incorrectly defined as compromise and passivity.” From the first days of the Islamic Revolution, the top parliamentarian continued, he had been committed to the path of the founder of the Islamic Republic, away from Westernization, sedition, deviation, and distortion of the Imam’s line. He said he had a fundamental difference with those who, instead of relying on the power of the people, look to the enemy for a solution, adding that the enemy always tries to create misunderstandings and differences, but it should be countered with benevolent criticism and revolutionary vigilance, rather than hasty interpretations. Ghalibaf also warned against political atmosphere-building, saying it should not be allowed to weaken the country or undermine the unity, trust, and belief in those who remained loyal to the Leaders of the Islamic Revolution. “We must shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding and protecting the instruments of power so that we can consolidate the achievements of the war and safely lead the country through the serious disasters that the enemies have planned,” he said, adding that it would be wrong to evade the responsibility of negotiating with the enemy and to call every achievement of the negotiating team a betrayal. Referring to the current challenges, Ghalibaf called for united efforts to solve the people’s problems, increase Iran’s authority, safeguard the achievements of the resistance, and defeat the enemy—rather than responding to inaccurate perceptions and judgments. He emphasized that the set of guidelines from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution also points to the same: resisting the enemy, maintaining national cohesion, strengthening domestic power, and avoiding harmful polarization. 📲 ​
