💬 Iran will not negotiate, reopen Hormuz until its conditions are met: Security chief 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iran will not enter negotiations with the United States or reopen the Strait of Hormuz until Washington meets seven conditions set by Tehran, Mohsen Rezaei, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, said on Wednesday. Rezaei said Iran’s conditions were completely different from those of the past and that Tehran would not return to previous arrangements. ​ “Until our conditions are met, the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened and we will not negotiate,” Rezaei said. ​ He said Iran wanted the United States to take action first to restore the trust of the Iranian people, stressing that Washington would have to act before Tehran would consider entering negotiations. ​ Rezaei said Qatar, Pakistan and Iraq had asked Iran about its conditions and that Iran had provided written conditions to be relayed to the United States. He said Iran’s conditions were currently in the hands of Pakistan and Qatar. ​ The security chief said Iran’s decision not to negotiate until its conditions were met was based on its assessment that the United States could not be trusted. He said Iran was seeking to pursue diplomacy from a different position and would not return to the previous circumstances. ​ Rezaei also urged regional countries not to become involved in US efforts to restrict Iranian aviation.
