📄 Iranian, Saudi FMs discuss rising regional tensions 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, discussed bilateral ties and the latest regional developments. Both sides pointed to the escalation of tensions and the rise in insecurity across the region and underlined the need to keep cooperation and diplomatic efforts going in order to prevent the spread of the crisis and return stability and security to the neighborhood. ​ Araghchi and Faisal spoke as recently as Saturday on bilateral issues, regional developments and diplomatic efforts to restore stability, including the insecurity imposed on the Strait of Hormuz by Washington’s aggressive actions. ​ Iranian officials have repeatedly argued that durable security in West Asia cannot be imposed from outside and that regional countries themselves must take responsibility for preventing the expansion of tensions. 📲 ​
