🔻 US bases in region suffered serious damage: Iran Army spokesperson 📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia says US bases in the region have suffered serious damage, noting that the damage has affected the support and supply operations of American forces and created challenges for Washington. Brigadier General Akrami-Nia made the remarks in response to the al-Alam correspondent’s questions about US movements in the region, the possibility of war, the Strait of Hormuz, and long-term war. ​ Referring to US movements and deployments in the region, the Army spokesperson said Iran’s Armed Forces had used the ceasefire period to update their target bank, optimize existing equipment, introduce new equipment into their military structure, and draw on the experiences and lessons learned from the war. He said the aim was to ensure that, in the event of another attack or aggression, Iran could confront the enemy more effectively, forcefully and on an even broader scale than before. ​ He said US bases in the region had suffered serious damage, adding that aerial, satellite and field observations confirmed this. He added that available information indicated that most of the bases were no longer even repairable. ​ Akrami-Nia added that the damage to US bases in the region had created serious problems for the support, fuel and food supplies of American forces, forcing the United States to obtain its supplies from outside the region. ​ He also said US soldiers were facing psychological problems and that Washington might take action to change the situation. He said the United States had lacked a clear strategy for withdrawing from the war from the outset and had become confused after witnessing the resistance of Iran’s Armed Forces and the support of the Iranian people. ​ Akrami-Nia said contradictory statements by the US officials about the ceasefire, continuation of the war, a naval blockade and the Strait of Hormuz showed that Washington lacked a clear strategy for ending the war, adding that the United States could take unpredictable actions. ​ Tehran’s preemptive operations based on proportional response to imminent threats ​ Brigadier General Akrami-Nia discussed Iran’s military strategy following the 12-day war, saying that under the UN Charter, the use of force is prohibited except in cases of legitimate self-defense, and that Iran had shifted its strategy toward preemptive warfare. ​ The Army spokesperson said the principles of proportionality, immediacy and necessity had been observed in Iran’s preemptive operations.
